PASSENGER

"Passenger" my little friend that I just finished. He carries his lantern to light the way thru the dim forest and carries his bed roll on the snails back.
Passenger is made with paperclay as well as the snail, he wears a sterling silver ring for his crown.

CARDBOARD AND CLAY HOUSE
This is one of my most favorite pieces, and it was so much fun to make. I used cardboard for the main structure, then paper mached over that, it does have a few wood pieces on the inside just for support. When the mache had dried I covered the house in joint compound which made it look like stucco, then I aged it with paint and stain. The bricks are made from earthen clay that I placed on my fireplace to dry.
All the windows have vellum in them with pictures of people glued to the vellum.
There is a night light attached in the back, and it makes the perfect little light with all the people looking out.

Here is a wreath I made for my kitchen, I used vintage plates and cups that I had been saving for years. It looks pretty against the Virginia Soil painted wall. My insripation for this piece came from RoboMargo's blog.

Here is a vintage window that I covered with colored glass a few years ago. It is hanging on my patio and when the sun shines thru in the morning it is so pretty.

Basil is sculpted with paperclay over a wire armature, he holds a Cicada that he found in the deep forest.

I would like for you to meet Basil the Bug Keeper.

Pink Hydrangea

This summer my favorite flowers have been so beautiful, the hydrangea's are starting to fade a bit now but they make wonderful dried arrangements for fall.

Bonnie the Baah-la-rina

Bonnie was such fun to create, she is sculpted with paper clay and sits on an upside down mason jar that is now covered with moss.
